In a flurry of splashes and cheers, the Ridge Meadows Swim Club's Titans have this competitive swimming season on a wave! With two exhilarating swim meets, the first one at UBC on October 21st and 22nd and a resounding performance in Langley on November 4th and 5th, these young athletes have set the pool on fire and left an indelible mark, setting the tone for an electrifying season ahead. The Titans' journey through these aquatic battles was nothing short of awe-inspiring.

At the VPSC Fall Invitational at UBC, the National Development group delivered standout performances, including Denys Tymchuck's remarkable 200m Back, Sunny Sandhu's impressive 100m Freestyle, Juan Arngo's strong 200 IM, and Ryan Leslie's swift 100m Backstroke, setting New personal bests after a year. Meanwhile, the Provincial and Divisional Development groups made a lasting impression with Angelina Kozerasky's spectacular 50 Free, Julia Longmuir's inspiring 100 Back, Charlotte Beatty's determined 200 Back, and Evelyn Shang's breathtaking performance in the 50 Breaststroke. Their incredible talents and commitment promise an exciting season ahead, and at the Langley Fall Invitational, the Titans proved this to be the case! More recently, this past weekend saw the Titans making history, sending an incredible 48 talented swimmers to compete for Ridge Meadows – the most ever sent by the club. As the Walnut Grove pool buzzed with excitement, it was clear that this would be a weekend to remember. The Titans showed their unwavering dedication and commitment to the sport. They achieved personal bests, emerged victorious in their heats, and secured prominent positions in the Finals. Notably, 82% of the team achieved their best during this exhilarating weekend, a testament to their tireless hard work and preparation.

While every Titan shone in the Langley pool, a few young stars emerged as standout performers. Benjamin Chen made a dazzling debut in the finals for his 50 free and 50 back, coming close to his divisional times. Sophia Lewin was amazed with her quick 100 breaststroke, dropping 5 seconds in the event. The RMSC National Development group led the charge, with Daniel Hai's remarkable 50 free landing him in the coveted "24-second club." Brooklyn Tetzlaff's astounding performance saw her qualifying for finals in all her events and achieving a personal best in her 800m free. Captain Keenan Gander showcased top-notch skills in his 400m free, 200m and 400m IM and played a pivotal leadership role throughout the meet.

It's evident that the Titans' programs, across the board, have made a remarkable start this season. Their passion for learning, growing, and honing their swimming skills is palpable, and it's clear that the Titans' momentum is stronger than ever. Looking forward, the Titans are gearing up for a more epic showdown with clubs from across the lower mainland. Yet, there's no doubt that the Titans are ready to dive into the pool with unwavering determination and show their speed again. With their collective spirit, dedication, and the rush of excitement they bring to every swim meet, the Titans will make waves and keep us all on the edge of our seats.
